Henderson the Blade

By: James | July 22nd, 2008

Watford Striker Daius Henderson hs signed for Sheffield United for £2M on a four year deal. Watford will also recieve add ons when certain aspects of Henderson’s game progress.

Henderson made his Watford debut against Preston on the opening day in 2005 and scored the only goal in a 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road. Fittingly, Darius scored his last goal in his last game which came against Hull City in the Play offs.

Henderson is most renound for his strong work ethic and strong physical nature.

This leaves the Hornets’ attack very underweight with only Robinson, Hoskins and Priskin licenced forwards. the funds that were raised would be expected to be put to good use but many fans may recall Aidy’s poor reputation on the trasfer market.

Watford chairman, Graham Simpson said: ” We all wish Darius well in the future. He was a great servant for this club and his goals were of a high importance. He will be misssed by all

In my opinion, its a mixed reaction. We now have £2M in the bank and the prospect of a new striker who will play “exiting” football. But on the other hand, Boothroyd is no gem in the trasfer market and that may be proved once against with the money raised by Henderson’s departure. Only time will tell.
